We have been very busy in the roundhouse at CRRM. We have been making great progress on Uintah 50. Since my last update we have completed the brake rigging, finished building the trucks, built the two storage boxes that hang underneath the car, finished the new floor in the baggage end, designed and built a new steel coupler pocket and modified a coupler to fit.
On Wednesday April 26, for the first time in 78 years 50 was taken for a ride on the rails. We did two laps around the loop to test out the new trucks and draft gear. All went well.
