We have 3 delton locomotives, one we kit bashed (former 268), one is in original form (271), and one was completely disassembled by the previous owner for modifications (early class 60 unknown number).
The kit bashed engine was great in the beginning; It was one of the first major projects my brother and I completed. We rebuilt it into a C-19 # 344. I don't know if I have any pictures (only a very short vhs clip). Delton engines had a problem with the gear boxes running dry and overheating. The gears would get soft and eventually spin on the axles. Our 344 will probably never run again, partly due to this, and partly because we used very poor choices in "glues" to assemble the kit bashed locomotive. NEVER use GOO Glue on a model!!!! (we were about 8 and 10 years old).
