On February 26, 1941 the southbound train had engine 473 on the point with engineer Alexander H. Baskett while the northbound was pulled by 471 with Charles Arnell at the throttle and conductor Henry Willis riding the coaches. The locomotives stayed in Antonito except when they were needed to be shopped then they ran light to Alamosa.
On a side note Norman Roberts, who was the conductor on the third-class freight train that ran between Antonito and Santa Fe in the 1920s was working Alamosa-Chama freight on this day. He didn't have enough seniority to bump Henry Willis and Deadhead Hines off the Chili Line mixed trains.
