John,
The spot has been used on multiple occasions. A quick look through my older raw files came up with one on January 30, 2006 on a Dave and Jean charter. As I recall, it was between the high line and Highline bridge. Don't know the milepost. It's one of few places with late afternoon light and an elevated shooting position. The photo line reminded me of the gold rush miners climbing over White Pass on a series of steps stomped into the snow. Would have liked more snow in 2006 (and every year after that!).
Here is the same place in 2007. Another Dave and Jean charter. We were supposed to have 478 for the day, but she failed by Hermosa with a drafting gear problem in the smokebox. The D&S quickly substituted 482 in 478's place. No time for a re-letter on 482.
Last but not least, 2009 with 473. Dave and Jean again. This may have been the really, really really last Dave and Jean charter. Until the next one.
Miss those days, they were great fun with the D&S and lots of friends.
