My reference is to current promotion and advertising of "The Silverton" to the public. The D&SNG web site is now durangotrain.com, there is no mention anywhere on the official D&SNG web site of "The Silverton" train, only 2 references to the Silverton branch and everywhere it is always written as the "Durango and Silverton" train or D&SNG. The former catch phrase "The Railroad to Yesterday" appears no where though it did in Bradshaw's days.
Granted, the employee time table uses the "The Silverton" logo introduced back in the first days of the D&SNG in 1981, but time tables are "not for the information of the public." The original logo for the D&SNG embraced "The Silverton" but when that logo was replaced with the current version, "The Silverton" disappeared. This is all reflective of a new or recent marketing directive to drop "The Silverton" from printed and internet based material made available to the public. When was the last time you saw any member of the public referring to one of these?:
