Exactly, Russ -
As the oceans get warmer, more water evaporates. The more water that's in the atmosphere, the more rain and snow you're gonna get.
Also, the warmer the atmosphere, the stronger the hurricanes, typhoons and - as we saw a few days ago - the stronger the tornadoes.
It's sorta like turning up the power on your air-conditioning system . . .
