One engine, I don't recall if it was 488 or not now, had chronic problems with hot journals one summer. The shop eventually simi-permanently plumbed Keeley lines to the drivers with copper tubing running along the top of the frame and a valve over each driving box. We would turn them as needed, usually at Sublette, to keep things cool dropping down into Antonito.
