Are you sure #487 was #483's helper from Chama to Cumbres on Sept. 30, 1962, Greg?
This EXTREME enlargement of a slide taken with my dad's mediocre old East-German Praktika shows the helper with a plow having the pilot beam protruding – unlike the plow that #487 wore most of the time, and also unlike the plow #484 was wearing in all of my 1962, '63 and '64 photos. Since #485 had been scrapped and - per Ernie's book #480, #481, #482, #486 & #489 were all out of service by late 1962 - could this be #488 on the point during the runby just below Windy Point on 09/30/62?
