Great photos and info Bret, as always. These shots make two things stand out in my mind:
1. The Baldwin mikes (and #50, speaking of Baldwins) seemed to forever be in the ditch on their side. Compare this to the 19 and 20 which to my knowledge never had a major mishap on the SVRy. I know some of this can be attributed to the fact that the heavier Baldwins found all the weak points in the roadbed before the Alco's showed up, but even after that they seemed to be more accident prone. Of course, the 19 made up for all that when she went into the lake on the White Pass, but I digress...
2. The ability of the South Baker shops to rebuild those locomotives so well that it's hard to identify any wreck scars is simply amazing. Replacement cabs, tender dents, etc are hard to find.
Keep 'em coming Bret!
