I remember riding the van back to Chama in 1986. The trip over the hill went well, with the typical rain shower at lunch time when we were all suppose to eat on the picnic tables outside the section house at Osier. We got into Antonito and loaded up in the Ford vans, but there was this one party that wasn't having a good day. Unfortunately they took it out on the closest people to them which was the engine crew. I can only imagine what it was like to be in that hot cab up the hill, then dealing with the storm, and getting the train over the entire railroad. And then having to deal with someone who was being completely inconsiderate. Oh, well, I guess that's why you got paid the big bucks.
