The rail around MP 284 shows dates of 1901. Could that have been laid new at that time, or is it more likely that the 'Grande relaid this at a later date, but definitely before 1968?
Rail a little further west, at MP 290 has a date of 1949. Could that have been relaid by the C&TS in recent years? I can't image the Rio Grande would install new rail on the narrow gauge after WWII/ I really can't imagine they used new rail in the 20th century!
Sorry I don't know the weights.
