Snow Goose Announcement - Durango & Silverton RR & Galloping Goose Historical Society

The Durango and Silverton RR is hosting former Rio Grande Southern Motor 5, the Galloping Goose, for excursion operations from Durango to Cascade February 18 and 19. This will be there first time the Galloping Goose will operate in the snow over any significant distance since the Rio Grande Southern RR was abandoned in 1951. Tickets will be available on the D&S website www.durangotrain.com beginning January 2, 2017. Ticket prices will be $119 per person for Saturday the 18th and $189 per person for the 19th. The Saturday trip will run in coordination with the regular Cascade Canyon train. The regularly scheduled train will pass the Goose at Tacoma on the way up to Cascade. The Sunday trip will be in coordination with the Winter Photographers Special. The Goose will follow the Photographers Special from Durango to Cascade and return. There will be numerous opportunities for photo run-bys during the Sunday trip.
