This is the paint job I remember and it was January 1975. The 34 and some other cars and other railroad equipment had been moved through the streets of Guatemala City to a park for some kind of fair.
Here is what she looked like in the museum in March 2005. Looks to be the about same paint job as in 1975 with a few mods including loosing the red roof and pilot and the addition of a different stack.
So I am going to guess that the red was something post 2005.
