Randy,
I'm so glad to see work on the 476 proceeding in a methodic, workmanlike manner. 476, along with 473 and 478 is a national treasure. My first solo trip as engineer on the D&S in the early summer of 1981 was on 476. When we dug into the hill at Hermosa with 11 cars, I didn't think we were going to make it, but 476 slugged it out and we steamed into Rockwood in good order. That locomotive is special to me, and I wish I were there to help in her resurrection. Keep up the good work, and Merry Christmas to you and all the roundhouse crew.
Mark
