My primary hobby is historical re-enacting, something I've been doing since I was a kid. Over the years, I've taken parts in countless events where for all intents, you felt like you were actually in the 1860s, 1940s, Roman era, etc...
But nothing prepared me for the feeling of walking past the parking lot and staring into the yard/enginehouse at Chama. Never in my life had I felt like I really,
truly, had been dropped into the immediate postwar era before. Yeah, there are some modern things there (like the paper signs on the cars on the first track near the rotary and the modern light posts outside the enginehouse) but you really feel like you stepped out of a time machine there.
