Me too - but I noticed that the link (above) is broken up, with some additional characters "outside of" or "following" what appears to be the actual link -
I have found that sometimes if I start a 'reply' - and merge everything together and then do a 'preview' - that the link in the preview will work O-K

Ah-yup -
A bunch of us chased the last westbound freight from Alamosa to Chama on 08/28/68, and Ernie & I chased the last eastbound on 08/29/68 'til it rounded the corner near m.p. 322.8 (labeled 'Los Pinos Station' on Ernie's map, but actually just a telegraphone booth)

I headed on east and intercepted #498 south of Antonito at mp 286.72, but Ernie turned around to chase the westbound to Durango - and the last Farmington RT on 08/31/68. He's been talking for years about two more books in the
Rio Grande Narrow Gauge – The Final Years series that he co-authored with Joe Hereford, but so far only
'Alamosa to Chama' has been published. I hope they get Volume 2 -
'Chama to Durango' and Volume 3 -
'Durango to Farmington' completed while my poor old eyes can still see well enough to appreciate them!

p.s to Charlie. IMHO, it would be better to scan that newspaper - preferably full-size if you can find a pro shop to do it, but even in sections and then stitching together if you have to. Second best would be to at least scan all the images high-res, so they can be embedded in a final version even if you have to re-type some of it after using OCR to get most of the text.
