I rather doubt the photo was taken on one of Fiji's islands. While Fiji had over 400 miles of narrow gauge lines, motive power in the steam era came exclusively (or nearly exclusively) from British builders like Fowler and Hudswell Clarke. lLocomotive design followed British practice.. The loco in the photo is obviously an American product..
