I came across this photo.
Years ago I looked at the north wall of the Como in the Greg Kazel collection of the Pacific Hotel. I was able to enlarge the image and it was clear to me that the north wall of the depot appeared to be timber shingles or tiles.
The photo below appears to show the wall with timber tiles as well.
