Right On, John -
On the D&S, Elk Park used to be just that - a wide-open, grassy park - with plenty of different angles available for photos
; the willows that have grown up there - especially between the railroad and the river - have changed things significantly. On the C&TS, the Friends helped clear some of the trees just west of Cresco tank this year, IIRC, but it's still impossible to get the State Line Marker, the Telegraphone Booth and the Water Tower all in one photo like we could back in the late sixties and early seventies. There are several other spots along the C&TS were some more brush removal and even a little tree cutting could do a lot of good (and maybe provide fuel for Eureka's next visit) - see [
ngdiscussion.net] for a few examples.
