Me too!
And my favorite scene in the sequel - "a winner-take-all serious game of mumblety-peg", with #(2)67 simmering in the background - is IMHO a near-perfect translation of the equivalent sword-fight scene in the original. The recent re-make (which I haven't seen yet) is probably grittier than the Yul Brynner / Steve McQueen / Borscht Kucholz version,* but I seriously doubt the musical score even comes close. (I was very lucky to attend a concert in 1967 or '68 conducted by Elmer Bernstein, which featured Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kije Suite and his own Suite from Magnificent Seven. The latter got a standing ovation, and IIRC an encore of the whole 20 minutes or so!)

* IIRC there were a couple of sequels - "Return of the Seven" (?) and "Guns of the Magnificent Seven" - which were mediocre at best.
