Well I've fired SVRY's #19 oil burner and the #3 Wood burning Heisler. Even though I love geared engines I would rather not fire the heisler - If I was 25 years old it would be a hard day's work - at 65 it's brutal. But.....if it's not too hot outside and the wood is dry it could be worse. The wood burner is pretty simple.
On the other hand the oil burning #19 is physically much easier but what they say is true - Watch 1)Water 2)Pressure 3) Atomizer 4)Smoke 5) Oil valve - 6) Engineer - repeat....a hundred times.....At the end of the day my neck is worn out from this constant mantra.
