Same place. Originally named after the divide (duh!) re-named Peake in the early 1920's (IIRC after a retired dispatcher.) Often, including by D&RGW, misspelled without the final "e" after 1927.
Reason for name change unkown. I've seen that it was to shorten telagraphy time.
Change was never really accepted by RGS crews and railfans apparently picked up the 'tude. At any rate fans often used Dallas Divide instead of Peake (or Peak) including in publications leading to confusion over the years.
I'm partial to Dallas Divide meself.
btw, Dallas was an early town about 3 miles North of Ridgway so don't call it that! smiling smiley
