I remember him from 1997 when the Rotary Ran. On the last day (before the big rock), I got a short cab ride. Earl was the engineer on 487(behind OY), and Jeremy was the fireman. As I recall he had a long braided pony-tail back in the younger days.
Speaking of Carlos, he was the fireman on a cab ride I did in 2014, and a couple of weeks ago when my brother and his family rode the train from Antonito, he was fireman on that run. Randy shot some video from the first coach behind 463. He showed Carlos taking water at Sublette. I just watched this footage yesterday. Speaking of video, he just happened to be at Rockwood the day the 480 had issues and 481 pulled two trains back to Durango.
Wishing all C&TS employees well, both past and present.
