Halloween Haunt was always a fun time of the year to be working at Knott's Berry Farm. The farm would always hire an army of extras to work during the haunt, most of which didn't meet the grooming standards of the the regular employees, if you know what I mean. Made for great people watching while on duty! So one night me and my fireman are dining on tacos and tuna melts at one of two employee cafeterias called lakeside terrace ( "view of the screw" per Sapp ) . The place was mobbed with all these extras and as a result there wasn't many places to sit. This unassuming timid rather plain 40 something woman walks up to us and asks if she can sit with us, SURE! no problem we reply. After several minutes of chit chat we both realize were dining with Cassandra Peterson, Elvira! Mistress of the Dark! sans makeup and other accoutrements . Somewhere I have her autograph on a KBF napkin.
