ALMOST as bad as Kevin Costner as Robin Hood - sorta validates that old Stan Freburg line (or was it Bob Newhart?),
to whit:     "Wyatt Earp - he makes me burp . . . "

At least Kevin Costner as Robin Hood did inspire Mel Brooks' second-best movie ever - 'Robin Hood - Men in Tights'
("A brother?  I have a brother??" / "A mole?  I have a mole??").*

OTOH, spacey Kevin Costner as spacey Kevin Costner - in 'Field of Dreams' - was pretty much O-K.

* Young Frahnkensteeeen ("walk this way") is, IMHO, Brooks' #1.  (And it DID have a RR scene at 'Transylvania Station',
which keeps this post almost relevant, and Kevin Costner did attend high school about four miles from where I now live.)
