Only off by a year, Ed -
But you're right about the lack of foamers in the foreground!

The above painting was reproduced at 8.5"x11" between pages 144 and 145 of the 468-page 'Pictorial Supplement to DENVER SOUTH PARK & PACIFIC' by Kindig, Haley & Poor, published by the Rocky Mountain RR Club in 1959. IIRC, the club offered two sets of 11"x14" (approx) reproductions of the paintings in this book, four by Phil Ronfor and four by Richard Ward. I bought only the Ronfor set (or asked for them as #1 on my Christmas list?), and 55 years later still have them in frames only a few feet from where I am currently sitting. Publication of the original book, "DENVER, SOUTH PARK & PACIFIC" by M. C. Poor, was limited to just 1,000 copies in 1949; due to extremely high demand a memorial edition was published in 1976. I have no idea whether a recent reproduction of the Photo Supplement - originally limited to 4,000 copies - has been undertaken as well, or whether copies of the eight paintings are still available from the RMRRC or the CRRM, but suggest that anyone interested in the DSP&P and its successor C&S contact these organizations for further information.
