There were about 20 UTLX frameless cars used by the Colorado Dept of highways for road oil service in the late 1940's and eary 1950's. These were in addition to the UTLX cars leased to Gramps.
I doubt if the trucks were changed while the cars were loaded, but the trucks were changed back at the end of the road oil season was over for a couple of years.
