Re: Water Tower at Willow Creek Siding

Was out at the CRRM today and found the following additional information on Willow Creek to ponder.

According to the D&RG 4th Division Water Service Ledger, Willow Creek originally had a 13' X 20' water tank
as well as an Halleday windmill mounted on a 51' tower. The tank is shown as being taken down in 1900. There
was mention of a 348' long 2" pipe line as well as a 3/4" pipe line 175' long which ran to the section house.

The following is from an original linen "Chain Map" Post 1901 also from the CRRM. Buildings included a section
house, bunk house, coal house and two privies which were removed in 1938 under AFE's T-6372 and T-6440.

The coal house was 7' X 12' located 7' from the outside of rail. The section house was basically a 34' - 5" X 42' - 5"
irregular shaped building located 95' from the outside rail. The bunk house was 19' X 31' while the two privies were
both 4' X 6'.

The siding at the time (12-27-1922) was 854' - 3" with a capacity of 19 cars. It was made up for 570' #30 rail,
68' #45 rail and 216'-3" #70 rail. Switch stands were "High" Elliots.

Note that by this time, the line had been re-chained and the new mile-post was now M.P. 349 with the coal house
being M.P. 349 plus 159 ', the section house M.P. 349 plus 212', and the bunk house at M.P. 349 plus 307'.
