I was just out to the site of the original photo two weeks ago and took this picture. It's the foundations of the horseshoe trestle which was later rebuilt with concrete footings and ultimately abandoned in 1928. Most everything else in the original picture has been obliterated by the Golden Reward open pit mine, which is active again after being idled for the past two decades. My photo was taken inside the horseshoe curve, just across the tracks from the former water tank and looking to the southwest. The original photographer took the shot just outside of the curve looking northeast.
