Many of you are familiar with long time NGDF member and contributor Hoss Smith, from Hawley Texas.
This week, he and his wife Debbie drove to Durango to ride on the "Knight Sky" to celebrate his 69th birthday. They rode the train on Monday. On Tuesday night, he developed serious respiratory issues and has been in the ICU at Mercy Hospital in a medical induced deep sleep, on a respirator. Hoss has had heart problems for the last few years , and he is fighting for his life now.
For those of you so inclined, please include Hoss in your prayers, for those otherwise inclined, please keep him in your thoughts as he and Debbie struggle to get through this situation, made all the more difficult by being so far from home. Fortunately, he is receiving excellent care at Mercy, so he has a lot going for him already.
I am proud to call Hoss a great friend of long standing through the NGDF, he is definitely one of the good guys, and a true friend and supporter of the Narrow Gauge.
Again, please keep him and Debbie in your thoughts and prayers.
Mike
