Mark I agree with Mark. Having known Dick for over 50 years, his health has deteriorated considerably in recent years. He is no longer making prints from his negatives (even for old friends) nor allowing his negatives to go to commercial developers for them to make prints. About seven years ago he went through , "organized" and "culled" his print collection. During that process he gave away or sold "extra" or "surplus" prints he had on hand and nonrailroad or railroad negatives in which good friends were shown. Since then he has not done anything with his collection and has said he does not intend to do anything more with it. He had said that eventually it would go intact to some public institution. Generally he does not return calls nor answer correspondence and of recent almost never grants interviews nor appears at or attends public meetings. He does sometimes sell prints of his choosing to calendar publishers, though recently has not send them any new ones so ones published in recent years are "left over" from those submitted earlier. He was on the board of the Colorado Railroad Museum years ago but has not had much if any contact with them since.
