Fascinating collection of Alco-built motive power at the Aguas Caliente station. #356, #357, and #358 are ex-Ferrocarril del Sur standard gauge units that were converted to 3 ft. gauge when acquired by Cusco-Santa Ana Railroad. #482 was originally Ferrocarril Santa (Chimbote to Huallanca) which was abandoned after the tragic 1970 earthquake. #400 was built for the General Belgrano Railway (Argentina). All are1200 HP DL-535 units. Aguas Caliente is the station that serves the tourists visiting the fabled Incan ruins of Machu Picchu. The train ride from Cuzco and the visit to Machu Picchu are amazing experiences.
