The line indeed was cut back in 1951. The bridges, grade, etc on the branch were to equal standards to the West side mainline. In the latter
years the line was used to handle gon loads of lumber to the mill in Red Bluff. Once the lumbering was finished the line was cut back as there
was little left to service ie nothing between Fruto and the current end of the line. The palm trees planted around the depot survive to this day.
