453 was the only K27 with a doghouse. It had a specially made one with the entry door on one side. The wooden coal boards on the 480's came along in the 1940's. The ones on 470's seem to date from the late 1950's when the Silverton runs became a mostly all passenger workout which made for an increase in coal capacity. The side boards on 480's were attached to neatly made steel brackets attached to the inside of the coal space whereas the steel brackets for the 470's were much less attractive and simply bolted to the outside of the tender.
