As for rehunn's comments: Yosemite Valley #11 was a 2-8-0, Merced Falls Lumber Mill of the Yosemite Lumber Company was closed in 1943. The mill used 24" narrow gauge tracks to move lumber to the drying yards. Since the mill was served by the YV, I consider the 24" gauge railroad to be a connecting road. Yosemite Valley Railroad was abandoned in 1945. The ties were clearly visible in 1987 when I took the photo. The concrete pit of the turntable on the YV was also visible at that time. I have not been back since 1987 (have wanted to return again, neat part of the world) so I don't know if ties are still visible. All of the clues stated this.
