Excellent work, Matthew! One thing that the photos cannot convey is how difficult the conditions were when you took those. Just walking around was pretty hazardous. Everything was icing up quickly as the overnight freezing drizzle was turning to a light, steady freezing rain. It was cold too....about 26F as I recall.
Your photos depict a side of this operation that isn't always prominent in the videos and stills that we see of trains out on the line. A very big part of the ambiance at the WW&F is the fact that bit by bit, they are re-creating all of the infrastructure that once existed, and that infrastructure is all but devoid of modernity. The museum's goal is to create a little time-warp there on Cross Road and this set of photos shows just how seriously they have approached that mission.
