I think it will depend on what level of accuracy is desired. For a display loco or a photo charter, exterior appearance is all that is necessary. A fully accurate and fully functional reproduction would probably cost several times as much. Someone sold a pair of reproduction lamps on eBay in the fall of 2104. He was asking $1,500 but they sold for $425. I only found the listing a year late! Dang! This was his claim in the listing: " These lamps are built from the exact plans from the early #26 Class lamp to replicate them." Anyone know who "dowtus3" is on eBay?
