Many of you will remember last year, when the Rocky Mountain Railroad Historical Foundation (the 501c3 arm of the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club) announced their 2015 mini grant program. We were looking for five small summer/fall projects related to railroad history and preservation to give up to $1000. Last year's recipients included:
[*] The Ridgway Museum for digitizing the RGS dispatcher sheets
[*] The DSP&P Historical Society for the Como Depot interpretive sign
[*] The DRHS to help with preserving two 40' NG reefers
[*] The Como Roundhouse towards engineering work in restoring the turntable
[*] The C&S Historical Society towards the rebuild of C&S 1006's roof
We're now taking applications for the 2016 grants. If you or an organization you know has a railroad history, education, or preservation project for this summer that you could use a bit of funding for, feel free to apply. Applications are due via email or USPS by the end of April.
The application form can be found
