I just rediscovered this picture of the "baggage" transfer arrangement at Sitio del Nino on the Ferrocarril de El Salvador. Sitio was the junction where the line to Santa Ana joined the line from Acajutla to San Salvador. Morning and evening three trains would meet there to transfer passengers and baggage. In this case baggage seemed to include a lot of interesting stuff. The transfer table was used to move baggage from cars on one train to another. In this particular case the "train" on the other side of the table is one of the FES' home-built motorcars. They called them Silver Bullets, we dubbed them Galloping Bananas, with apologies to the RGS. January 1975.
