Somewhere along that time, the RGS more or less became another division of the Grande, and was administrated from Gunnison. At this time they probably changed the RGS to an east- west RR to match the rest of the system. They did fun things like reschedule the south-end mixed train to depart Durango after 115 arrived from Alamosa in the afternoon, making the trip to Rico into an all night mixed train ride. None of the agency depots were open at night, and no one wanted to stand outside in the dark in winter and wait for a train that no one had an any idea when it would show up. Obviously, passenger traffic was reduced to pretty much a nonexistent state - which was the entire idea.
