Sorry, I don't know the current status, but even to put a ladder up to the roof put the bottom of the ladder on Iowa Pacific property, as it stood about 3 years ago when Beardmore was still alive and working on the project. I would assume they have addressed that problem. Tight property lines are not uncommon. When the D&RGW donated the Silverton depot back in 1969, they donated the building and a strip of land 6 feet wide around the structure. We interpreted that to mean from the eave line of the roof, but knowing them it probably was intended from the foundation line. This came into play later with Bradshaw when we were "negotiating" with him over access to the building. Fortunately, one end of the building abuts the tail end of a public street, so we had access.
