This is the Standard Oil Company of California tank car SOCO X-104 at Battle Mt, Nevada in 1938. It was operated on the Nevada Central RR from 1927 to 1938 by Standard Oil, hauling gasoline to their bulk plant at Austin. The car was built by the Nevada California Oregon Railroad in 1918 as NCO A-6. This car, along with three others operated by Standard Oil on the NCO (A6-A9) were sold to the oil company when the NCO was standard gauged. When the Nevada Central was abandoned the car went to the Nevada County Narrow Gauge. It is thought that X-104 went to Oahu in 1942.
