Look at the flat area between the hillside and the trestle -- you will wagon wheel ruts going to and from a wooden platform. The wooden deck has a wooden cabinet next to it. This is the scale for weighing the wagon loads coming to the mill. As of a few years ago the pit for the scale was still there.
