According to David F. Myrick's *New Mexico Railroads: An Historical Survey*, here's the short story.
The New Mexico Central ran from Santa Fe to Torrence, New Mexico. It was not the AT&SF line to Lamy, but an independent short line. Incorporated in 1900, completed in 1903, the Santa Fe Central met the Albuquerque Eastern at Moriarty. In 1908 the two were consolidated and reorganized as the New Mexico Central. The line ran ran south from Santa Fe approximately parallel to the AT&SF line to Lamy, but to the west. The NMC crossed the AT&SF near Kennedy, NM, then went south to Moriarty (now Calvert), and to Willard, where it again crossed the AT&SF, then turned east to connect with the Rick Island at Torrance. The AT&SF acquired it in 1926, and abandoned the Santa Fe - Kennedy and Torrance - Willard sections in 1929. After 1943 only the Willard to Calvert portion remained in service.
The NMC - D&RGW "Union Station" in Santa Fe was about 100 feet east of the AT&SF station in Santa Fe.
