Vaudeville was dying by the early 1920's, Talkies killed it stone dead. Most of the great comics of the early movies & even TV got their start there though. Last survivour of the era working was George Burns. Sort of the American knock-off of the English Music Hall scene, but less high class. More time spent on the train between gigs in the US version.

Have to admit, I liked L&H much better when I was 8 yrs old than I do now. Unlike the Stooges, it's not that I don't like them now, it's that I adored them then.
