This thread on the K-37 tenders is quite
interesting. I'm working on superdetailing
#490. It was unique that it had the cooling coils
underneath the cab on the firemans side. It's tender was also unique in that the top of the slope-sheet was curved and also had a tall coal
bunker compared to the others. But it looks to me that #497 ended up with what was #490,s tender.
There are variations in the heights of the coal
bunkers on the other #490's. #493's tender had
vertical rows of rivets on the side which is also unique to that loco. I think I may be talking too much, so I'll stop here. I just found out about
this list and this is my first posting.
