If you are not familiar with flickr, the first picture I listed can be enlarged very dramatically to reveal all sorts of nice detail. In the lower right hand corner of the black frame around the picture is a symbol of an arrow pointing to a horizontal line. Click on that and choose "view all sizes" and then select original. The picture comes to life and even some of the reporting marks on SRR boxcar 509 can be read. Looking at those compartments for raw ore, and ore can be seen in the bins, it must have been a mess in the winter trying to move that material. We have more than a foot of new snow this morning and when that stuff piled up in those bins, and the ore froze together, then I'd imagine things came to a halt. In fact, many of the mines shut down for part or all of the winter in those times.
