Water Cars

I was away over the weekend and the time lapsed on the recent discussion on water cars. Was ther any description anywhere in the discussion about the genetics of the various water cars. I rushed back to look at the Work Cars book and saw many examples of the cars some of which were obvious tenders and some of which looked like some curious kit bashing had been done. Several look like K-27 tender frames but tanks from other engines and some look like c-16-19 frames with other tanks than the original tenders and some look like maybe gondola frames (all wood with strap bolsters) and tender trucks with odd tenders. Some seem to be rebuilt tender tanks with the coal area enclosed on the front and top. And of course there is the collection of X oil tank cars that were converted. Would like to see if any one has a list of the water cars and where their parts came from.
