I think that the average person who sees one of these warbirds just has no idea how difficult it is to get and keep one of these things airworthy, literally 70 years after they were built. Airplanes with complex systems, such as the B-29 are significantly more difficult to maintain than even a B-17. When I was a kid back in the 60s, I was amazed that groups like the CAF were able to keep these things flying. 50 years later, I am astounded.
It will be quite a moment when Doc finally takes to the air.
