So, I had written a nice piece for these photos, thanking everyone here, who had offered advice when I asked back in July. Well, after uploading the photos, that blurb vanished, so here I am now circling back to thank everyone who offered advice, thanks again!
I arrived in Wernigerode on the afternoon of August 13, 2015, after spending the morning at Miniaturwunderland in Hamburg. After checking into my wonderful hotel, I made a bee line for Drei Annen Hohne, to capture the remainder of the days action.
On Friday, I met up with a former Siemens colleague and friend, who retired nearby. We spent the day catching up, while making photos of the HSB in the wonderful Harz mountains. On Saturday, I had half of the day to spend, before having to drive to Frankfurt, and catch my flight back home to the States.
I came away with some wonderful shots, and some good video, which you can watch here:
While photography is my area of expertise, the video is not bad either. BUT, the Tube has made some tweaks to the footage, which was all lock down and no zoom, which makes some of the run by's seem like the zoom is hunting. Since I was shooting with a GoPro, we all know that is not possible. There are 2 iPhone videos in there someplace, not gonna tell you which ones, but enjoy the photos and the videos. The HSB is a must see if you like narrow gauge railroading!
